Who is S.A.G.E.?

SAGE is an artist advocacy organization, focusing our efforts around building a culture and thriving ecosystem for the arts in Brown County, WI. We meet to communicate opportunities, develop programming led by artists to engage the community, and offer peer to peer mentorship as it pertains to creative entrepreneurship. There is no fee to be a member of SAGE; we value talents and the purpose that each person brings to our organization. Founded in 2017, SAGE is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit determined to be accessible to all, fostering a vibrant arts culture that represents the diversity of our Midwestern city.

Support Your Creative Community

SAGE oversees a studio in the heart of downtown Green Bay. Located inside the Bellin Building at 130 E. Walnut Street, you can find us on the 6th floor and periodically hosting events throughout the building. Whether you’re stopping in for a meeting, Open Studio, our “One Night Only” exhibits, or any other special event, we want you to be visiting with clear intention.

Monetary donations are always greatly appreciated. First and foremost, they keep our doors open, and they also allow us to engage the community with artistic events, showcase artists and creatives throughout the community, and purchase specific supplies needed to keep our organization thriving.

SAGE also gladly accepts art supply donations. If you’re looking to get rid of those art supplies gathering dust on the shelves, send us an email, or visit us during Open Studio Nights, the third Tuesday of every month, from 530-8pm.

THE SOCIAL PRESCRIPTION CALENDAR IS ONE YEAR OLD!

SAGE is proud to hit a milestone with the Social Prescription Calendar! It’s been serving Brown County for ONE FULL YEAR!

Launched on Social Prescribing Day in 2025, the calendar is a collaborative effort between SAGE and more than 20 entities throughout Brown County. In October 2025 SAGE received a Proclamation of Support for social prescribing by the mayor of Green Bay Eric Genrich, as well as backing from State Representative Amaad Rivera-Wagner and Oneida Nation Business Councilman Jameson Wilson. In late 2025, SAGE was awarded a grant by the Basic Needs Giving Partnership to expand our website capabilities and develop and implement strategy around data collection pertaining to program feedback and success. In December, SAGE hosted the first "Social Prescribing Showdown" where eight program partners competed alongside local artists to win 12 social prescription classes at their location. And, as quite a milestone, after presenting the Social Prescription Calendar and the concept of social prescribing to the Greater Green Bay Chamber's "Leadership Green Bay", SAGE caught the attention of one of the leading health care networks in the area. The Social Prescription Calendar is set to become a "smart phrase" within the network's digital platform so providers can easily add a link to the Social Prescription Calendar on a patient's appointment summary if they identify as needing greater connection.
