Introducing SAGE’s “Social Prescription Calendar”, a collection of Brown County area arts and culture events that are FREE to participants and attendees.

In the summer of 2024, SAGE began researching the concept of Social Prescribing, collecting studies and reading our way through a pile of books that highlight the importance of social infrastructure in order to build social capital and all for the sake of living in a thriving, supportive community. What we learned was that our programs like Open Studio, our “One Night Only” exhibits, Creatively Engaged Community, and even our Modern Warriors initiative were all perfect candidates for social prescribing. We called on some of our best collaborators to oversee two of the necessary three roles in Social Prescribing- Link Workers and Community Organizations (many of these orgs are both!). In late January of 2025 we gathered and SAGE gave a presentation on the collaborative proposal. Thus, the Social Prescription Calendar made its way to existence, and we greatly look forward to being present for our community members and their mental health as we collectively address this epidemic of isolation and loneliness.

Women's Work

Women's Work

On International Women's Day, SAGE is honored to host "Women's Work: The Art of Resistance and Persistence". Orchestrated by local artists Kasey Hock and Abbey Kleinert, Women's Work showcases individuals who gathered at UW-Green Bay for an introduction to Riso Printing as a means of coming together in community. This collection of prints in poster and zine form shines a light on current issues like body autonomy, equal rights, and patriarchal systems. In addition to the risograph prints many of these women will be exhibiting additional works in their chosen mediums.
This event will also invite attendees to create at a Maker's Station of supplies for ribbons and rosettes meant to motivate and empower through affirmation and adornment. Our friends at the Daily Buzz will have mocktails available on the first floor, and live music will complete the brave space of gathering in solidarity to celebrate women and the work that is yet to be done.
Riso prints will be available for sale with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds from the sale of these riso prints will go to Golden House and their extensive services for domestic abuse survivors.

Open Studio- Pulaski

We’ve got a table full of art supplies and a chair calling your name…come hang out! Need help with pricing your original artwork, or anything else related to the business of artistry…we can help with that too! Just wanna chat all things art or enjoy some conversation with like-minded creative folks? That’s exactly what Open Studio is for.

There’s no formality to Open Studio, it’s just a night that we bring out some art supplies and open the door to anyone and everyone who wants to hang out for the sake of the arts. We know how important it is that creatives create something, whether it's your next piece of work or a connection.

**Open Studio in Pulaski is located at Super Ron’s Grocery Store. You can find us in the seating area just across from the hot food and deli.

***Open Studio is intended for individuals 16 and over who have a desire to increase the presence of art in their everyday life, develop a business around the art they already create, and connect with creatives in their own community. If you have questions about this program, please be encouraged to email us at createwithsage@gmail.com
