SOCIAL PRESCRIBING SHOWDOWN!

SOCIAL PRESCRIBING SHOWDOWN!

After five years with the Toy Maker’s Fundraiser, it was time for something that really tested our event planning and creativity…

We give you…

THE SOCIAL PRESCRIBING SHOWDOWN

8 Artists...
8 Organizations...
1 Night for a Chance to WIN 12 Art Classes...

SAGE is excited to host the "Social Prescription Showdown", a night to cheer on some of our favorite artists and impactful organizations as they team up for three rounds of exhilarating competition:

Round One: 8 Organizations are randomly paired with one of 8 area artists. This round, in two parts, will challenge the organization members to complete an unfinished art piece belonging to their artist team member. Audience members act as judges to advance the top 4 art pieces.

Round Two: The top 4 teams from Round One advance to have random art supplies dumped out at their work stations. Teams will have a time limit to create a piece of art from what they've been given. Once again, the audience votes, and the top 2 teams advance to the FINAL ROUND.

Round Three: Art Trivia! The top two teams will challenge their brains on what they know about all things arts and culture. For the final round teams will get one more opportunity to add a team member; they'll choose to add an artist, a librarian, or a museum curator. Art Trivia determines the WINNER of the Social Prescription Showdown!

As SAGE's fundraiser, tickets are $30 to attend this exciting event. In addition to the live competition we'll have special guests, a pop-up Open Studio where you can create your own art, mental health resources and information about our partner organizations, a silent auction, and MORE! Your ticket includes a selection of hors d'oeuvres and a soda. A cash bar will be available.

How we chose our Inaugural Teams…

As an organization bringing community programming to the Greater Green Bay area since 2017, SAGE has built wonderful relationships with various entities over the years. When it came time to consider who we would ask to take one of eight team spots in our first year hosting the Social Prescribing Showdown, we knew it meant these folks would be taking a chance on us just as much as we are taking the chance on this event as a fundraising opportunity. SAGE is incredibly grateful that we were able to turn to some of our current collaborators who we also consider our friends in order to truly make this event as success. Here’s a snapshot of how we’ve gotten to know these entities over the years…

Our relationship with Aspiro began in 2022 when we were asked to consider how we could assist in creating art that could raise funds for the organization during their annual “Tastes and Toasts” event. Aspiro was the 3rd organization we hosted our program “Creatively Engaged Community” with, and we’ve gone on to partner hosting solo exhibits for artists with disabilities, additional Creatively Engaged Community sessions, and in 2026 will work with Aspiro’s “Building Fuller Lives” program.

SAGE’s first encounter with the brilliant Martha Marvel and her unwaivering efforts was during the installation of the “We Will Be Seen” mural at Napalese Lounge in Green Bay. Sitting down to coffee at The Attic, Martha shared her story and a snapshot of the experiences of our local LGBTQIA+ population. Since then, we have witnessed Martha and her team form the “Bay Area Council on Gender Diversity”, offering much needed programming and representation within Brown County, and we could not be more honored to invite them as a team.

SAGE learned of Joshua when one of their employees, Caitlin, joined us as an apprentice during our first mural in Pulaski in 2022. However, our relationship with it’s Executive Director, Amber, dates back years prior to when Amber first ordered a Memory Bear from the founder of SAGE. Amber and Stacey would go on to be front page articles in the Green Bay Press-Gazette about the housing crisis in 2021, and the two maintain a friendship centered around shared experience and community advocacy.

The relationship between SAGE and the Neville Public Museum dates back to 2020 when we hosted our first Toy Maker’s Fundraiser in the midst of the pandemic. Since then, the Neville’s continued support of our work and their willingness to meet with us to discuss our latest “crazy idea” have made them one of SAGE’s strongest allies. The Neville Public Museum was the host site of the Toy Maker’s Fundraiser for four years. Currently they are our site location for Open Studio each month in Green Bay.

In August of 2025 we met with Oneida Business Committee Member Jameson Wilson to discuss SAGE’s Social Prescription Calendar. During that meeting, Jameson shared the “Oneida Man Clan” and their mission with us. Oneida Man Clan identifies as “A group of men reestablishing community.” At the “Social Prescription Convening” on October 14, 2025, Jameson shared their story once again, emphasizing the importance of culturally significant programming for mental health. We are grateful to Jameson for sharing the Oneida Man Clan’s efforts with us and we are committed to supporting them.

We first met the brothers of One of One Gallery in De Pere through an introduction by one of SAGE’s longtime supporting artists, Tania Nelson. In January of 2025, One of One Gallery became one of our original partners in the Social Prescription Calendar. In September, One of One hosted the artists of Modern Warriors with a pop-up market, and we began discussion around collaborating on more programming for the De Pere community. We look forward to seeing what 2026 will bring for this partnership.

SAGE has been presenting concepts centering arts and culture to Amaad Rivera-Wagner since his days working as Chief-of-Staff for the Mayor of Green Bay. In the Spring of 2025, we presented Amaad with the Social Prescription Calendar and asked if he would lend his support towards it. Since then, the State Representative has been a vocal advocate for utilizing the arts to address mental health and community well-being, inviting SAGE to host a social prescription class during the Open House for his Community Office in downtown Green Bay and repeatedly meeting with us to discuss our current efforts and strategies as we continue to collaborate.

When SAGE began our efforts to expand our Open Studio program to various communities throughout Brown County in 2024, we leaned on Pulaski Area Community Education to help us get the word out. PACE gave us space in their community catalog to advertise at no charge, and as a leading organization providing free programming to residents of Pulaski, continue to encourage our work in this rural community. In the summer of 2025, SAGE partnered with PACE to create a summer school course where a mural was painted by students and Pulaski High School alumnus, Savannah Mikle.
