On International Women's Day, SAGE is honored to host "Women's Work: The Art of Resistance and Persistence". Orchestrated by local artists Kasey Hock and Abbey Kleinert, Women's Work showcases individuals who gathered at UW-Green Bay for an introduction to Riso Printing as a means of coming together in community. This collection of prints in poster and zine form shines a light on current issues like body autonomy, equal rights, and patriarchal systems. In addition to the risograph prints many of these women will be exhibiting additional works in their chosen mediums.
This event will also invite attendees to create at a Maker's Station of supplies for ribbons and rosettes meant to motivate and empower through affirmation and adornment. Our friends at the Daily Buzz will have mocktails available on the first floor, and live music will complete the brave space of gathering in solidarity to celebrate women and the work that is yet to be done.
Riso prints will be available for sale with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds from the sale of these riso prints will go to Golden House and their extensive services for domestic abuse survivors.
**This event will be held inside the Terrace Room, located on the second floor of the Bellin Building. Additional seating/gathering space can be found on the first floor inside the Daily Buzz and Nightly Buzz venues.
